Well, here we are. The Thread aPa website really does exist, and not just on some horribly over-loaded junk server in the basement of where I work. And now that it's starting to cost me money, I figure it's time to do something with it.Lots of people write about wrestling, which is fine by me. Hey, it keeps them off of the street and away from smoking crack or whatever it is the kids do these days. This site will not feature any of that.
There are also a bunch of folks that write about video games. Again, that's totally awesome and all, but it won't be happening here.
I really love sports. Football and baseball especially. I could probably write a whole lot about sports online and maybe entertain somebody. Too bad it won't be on this site.
So what the hell IS this site about?
....
That's up to YOU.
I'd like this to be a place where our little circle can write about some different things. Subjects that go beyond what you just consume and forget in mere seconds. I know damn well we've got some creative folks around here, and it manifests itself in different ways. Humor, fiction, autobiography, we have it all. Or we will have it all as soon as I have some of it to put up here.
I'm not looking to conquer the world here. I don't think this site will cure cancer, give us peace in the middle east or make me rich. I just want some different content that will maybe make you sit back for a few minutes and just forget about everything else. By no means am I holding this little hole in the cyber-wall to one particular format or mood. We're going to have some of our chat transcripts up again (yeah, you've never heard THAT promise before) and I'll be putting up some of the older articles in the coming days and weeks.
So yeah, it's a lot like it was before, except I'm going to take it upon myself to actually contribute something. And I'm going to be a real asshole and ask all of YOU to do the same. Also you'll hopefully see some work from folks outside our wrestling-themed community... sort of a breath of fresh air. Ideally I'd like to see some faces you're familiar with from other sites branching out and trying some different things here.
If you want video-game and general cool stuff coverage, please check out the good people at OhEmGee.com. For the best damn sports website that ESPN hasn't bought yet, go see Scott Christ's eGen Sports place. If you want yet another wrestling-only website to go to... man, take your pick.
Hopefully this place can be recognized as someplace both fun and thought-provoking at once. Or whatever the hell you want it to be. Me... I just work here.
